Eid ul adha

 Eid-Ul-Adha

Eid ul adha also known as “kurbanir eid” for the bengali muslim people. In the world there are two main festivals for the muslim people, eid ul adha is one of them. Although the story of eid ul adha was really a matter of sorrow for the Muslim but it has become a great festival now.
Eid-ul-Adha is always celebrated on the 10th day of Zil Hajj month of the Hizri calendar. Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), on this day, offered to sacrifice his beloved son Hazrat Ismail (AS) who willingly submitted to the will of his father to please Almighty Allah approximately  4,500 years back.
But the Almighty in His benign mercy spared Hazrat Ismail (AS) and instead sent a ram to be sacrificed.
After that time following  this historic event, muslim people across the whole world offer prayers in congregations and sacrifice animals according to their own ability in the name of Almighty Allah on the day.
They also offer munajat seeking divine blessings for peace, progress, prosperity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Eid al-Adha is the second major Muslim festival after Eid al-Fitr. On the first day of Eid al-Adha, Muslims who can afford sacrifice an animal and distribute a set percentage of its meat to those less fortunate. This is done in symbolic remembrance of the Prophet Ibrahim, who, as per Islamic faith, was asked to sacrifice his son Ismail by God.
